About Ulrike

I am privileged to be able to make my home on the shore of Little Traverse Bay in Harbor Springs, Michigan and spend time in winter above Salt Creek Beach in Laguna Niguel, California. During my childhood years in Germany we vacationed in summer on the North Sea island Norderney. My favorite pastime is spending hours in nature, especially around and in water, gazing at the sky, drinking in the ever-changing beauty of both. Hours spent in such settings awaken all my senses. I can hardly wait to transform a two-dimensional canvas through a celebration of color into a moving sculpture. Painting is for me a tool to honor divinity in nature.

Education:

• Undergraduate Degree: Education, University Bonn (Germany) 1970

• Masters Degree in Education & Psychology, University Bonn (Germany) 1972, Teacher Academy Siegburg

• Transferred to the United States in 1976 as a selected teacher for the German Schools Abroad system.

• 1988 Graduate of Echols International Hotel Schools, Inc., Chicago, Illinois - Winner of Sales and Marketing Award

• Married since 1979 with twin son and daughter born in 1980.

• Reside in Harbor Springs, MI & Laguna Niguel, CA

Art education:

• Barbel Art Center, Huntington Beach, CA

• Workshops with Jacqueline Kamin Fine Art, Laguna Beach, CA

• Student of teachings of John Robinson, a life-long water painter

• Grew up with abundant art in Europe and an accomplished oil painting mother, Margarete Lambertz

• Daughter, Julia, exhibited at Vanderbilt University for excellence in art (oil & acryllics)
